Coming out of Labor Day, Democratic Governor Jon Corzine and Republican challenger remain in a tight race for Governor, a new survey conducted for Stan Greenberg and James Carville’s organization Democracy Corps by GreenbQerg Quinlan Rosner Research shows. Christie holds a three-point lead on Corzine, 41 to 38 percent, with independent Chris Daggett receiving 10 percent of the vote.
Corzine’s standing has improved over the past month, with his favorable rating ticking up from 32 percent to 36 percent. Christie’s favorability rating remains at 1:1, 33 percent favorable and 33 percent unfavorable.
