Report on Latest Democracy Corps National and Battleground Polls

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner conducted a poll which shows the Democratic advantage in Presidential and Congressional elections has been consolidated, with Democratic Members of Congress gaining in strength while Republicans weaken. While many in the press have reported that both parties are equal partisan offenders against the public good and sensibilities, this completely misreads the current moment and the trends unfolding before the electorate.

Democracy Corps has completed two surveys – a national poll of 1,000 likely voters and a poll of 1,300 likely voters in 70 competitive Congressional Districts – which shows the Democratic advantage in Presidential and Congressional elections has been consolidated, with Democratic Members of Congress gaining in strength while Republicans weaken. While many in the press have reported that both parties are equal partisan offenders against the public good and sensibilities, this completely misreads the current moment and the trends unfolding before the electorate. In their latest strategy memo, Stan Greenberg, James Carville, and Ana Iparraguirre offer message strategy for Democratic incumbents and the Democratic Congress – who should act with confidence on their current standing and the current dynamics – and use this moment to define what they are trying to achieve and what the President and the Republicans are trying to stop.
